Responsibilities
- Conduct research and draft background memos to support the Rocky Mountain Office’s legislative, regulatory, and legal work on priority policies.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a graduate program with an expected graduation date no earlier than December 2026 or in an undergraduate program with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
- Must be eligible to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement through this externship.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and comfort navigating and learning new tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information to various audiences.
- Must commit to 15-25 hours/week for 10-15 weeks.
Nice to Have
- Priority will be given to those with a background in environmental policy and advocacy, public policy, or environmental law.
Additional Information
- This role may require the ability to: Sit for extended periods with occasional standing and walking
- As needed, travel in Colorado (limited to Front Range, no overnight travel) with the State Legislative Representative to meetings with decision makers or coalition partners

- Lift and carry materials
- Read documents, conduct computer work and document review
- Externs are unpaid and must receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement for their work with Earthjustice.
