What You'll Do
Prepare and guide candidates for key operational roles including Shift Operations Manager, Vitrification Control Room Manager, and Shift Technical Engineer, ensuring they meet qualification standards. Act as the primary technical liaison between nuclear safety teams and facility operations, supporting updates to Technical Safety Requirements and Safety Bases Annual Reviews.
Lead the maintenance and improvement of operator training simulators to ensure realistic and effective training scenarios. Provide expert input to ensure all proposed changes to safety protocols adhere to regulatory clarity and simplicity standards. Deliver ongoing mentorship to developing staff, building technical competence and operational readiness.
Document daily activities through regular worklogs, submitted at least weekly, to ensure accountability and transparency in task execution. Perform additional duties as needed to support facility management and integration objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in nuclear facility operations or technical safety management
- Strong understanding of Technical Safety Requirements and safety basis documentation
- Experience mentoring technical staff or leading training programs
- Ability to manage simulator systems for operator training
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity and compliance
- Onsite presence required at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina
