Brenntag North America is hiring an External Account Manager for its Homecare, Industrial & Institutional (HI&I) team. In this role, you will meet customers across the North of the UK to promote our specialty product range and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
What You'll Do
- Promote Brenntag’s specialty product range and services to all current and prospective customers within your designated area and market.
- Deliver sustainable profitable growth by leading customer management, lead generation, and conversion of new business.
- Establish and maintain a visit schedule aligned with account value, competitive risk, and customer support needs.
- Manage accounts against set targets, including mandatory face-to-face sales call quotas each month.
- Accurately document customer meetings and establish rigorous follow-up mechanisms to maintain momentum and close sales.
- Maintain the CRM database, updating customer contacts, recording daily visit notes, completing customer potentials, updating opportunities, and raising sample tickets.
- Communicate with relevant team members to follow up on any actions after a customer interaction.
- Maintain customer pricing, update quotations using the system, and communicate and negotiate where needed.
- Liaise with Technical Sales Managers and Industry Market Managers to maximize sales opportunities.
- Arrange and attend customer joint visits with other stakeholders including Technical Sales Managers and Suppliers.
- Proactively liaise with Internal Stakeholders to resolve customer queries and issues promptly.
- Build customer loyalty and develop knowledge of their business to highlight potential products from Brenntag’s range.
- Prepare monthly reports for your sales area with insight into customer activity, market, and competitor information.
- Analyze sales performance trends and react accordingly to any lost or threatened business.
- Seek and report competitive insight to inform strategy and purchasing/pricing tactics.
What We're Looking For
- Full UK driving license

- Sales experience, ideally within the Homecare, Industrial & Institutional (HI&I) sector.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the Homecare, Industrial & Institutional (HI&I) team, liaising closely with Technical Sales Managers, Industry Market Managers, and other Internal Stakeholders.
