Overview: Diving deep into financial reconciliation, this role is all about keeping our GL accounts and DDAs razor-sharp. You'll be the detective finding balance discrepancies, unraveling complex accounting mysteries, and contributing to key projects. Primary Responsibilities: • Deliver spot-on, timely reconciliation and reporting for assigned portfolios, ensuring our financial statements are GAAP-perfect and audit-ready • Compile and analyze data for routine accounting reports — daily, weekly, and monthly departmental tracking • Become our financial troubleshooter: identify issues, research aged items, and escalate problems strategically • Act as a communication bridge across internal teams, business partners, and investors to resolve inquiries smoothly • Proactively update procedural documentation based on evolving process and accounting requirements • Support new business initiatives under management guidance • Mentor junior staff, helping them master routine tasks and accounting nuances • Champion corporate risk policies by identifying and highlighting potential breaches • Uphold compliance and operational risk controls aligned with company and regulatory standards • Embody M&T Bank's culture of inclusion and brand values • Maintain rigorous internal control standards, swiftly implementing audit recommendations and addressing external regulator insights • Tackle additional assigned responsibilities as they emerge Education and Experience Required: HS Diploma/GED Plus 3 years relevant work experience M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
