Stack Builders is hiring an Experienced Python Developer for a full-time, remote contractor role. Join our engineering team to enhance and scale a tracking and vision-based platform that integrates computer vision with modern Python web frameworks. You'll collaborate directly with the client to deliver maintainable, scalable, and high-impact software solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Python, Django, and Flask.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs to support real-time tracking and analytics.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure seamless data integration and user experience.
- Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and best coding practices.
- Contribute to infrastructure setup and containerization (Docker, Nix, Kubernetes).
- Participate in daily stand-ups and proactively communicate with stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience in Python development.
- Proven expertise with both Django and Flask frameworks in production environments.
- Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS for light frontend integration.
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
- Familiarity with Git, agile development methodologies, and remote collaboration tools.
- Strong communication skills, accountability, and self-direction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- Availability to overlap 4 hours with the GMT-5 timezone.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Vision Engineering.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or Nix environments.
- Exposure to Swift for iOS integrations.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, microservices architecture, or serverless patterns.
