About the Role

SEKISUI Aerospace is hiring an Experienced Composite Engineering Technician to join our team in Orange City, IA. In this hands-on role, you will provide critical support to our Engineering team and production operations by troubleshooting, updating work instructions, and validating processes to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality composite products.

What You'll Do

  • Lay up pre-preg parts with complex geometries in a development setting.
  • Support and collaborate with Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Work closely with production leadership and team members to assess and analyze ongoing issues.
  • Interact with production floor workers and management to identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Initiate Engineering Changes and follow the established Engineering Change process.
  • Create work instructions and perform industrial writing.
  • Work with the company's Operations ERP System.
  • Provide accurate time estimates to production management for process routings.

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience with pre-preg layup for complex geometries.
  • Ability to read and understand standard ISO drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
  • Able to learn material quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to alter your work schedule to occasionally work around production schedules.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with pre-preg layup in a development setting.
  • Experience utilizing solid modeling software such as Solidworks, Autocad, or Inventor.
  • Familiarity with GD&T.
  • Familiarity with CNC Machining Processes and capabilities.
  • Knowledge of different molding processes.
  • A two-year technical degree.
