Societe Generale is hiring an ESG Data Steward

About the Role

Societe Generale is hiring an ESG Data Steward to coordinate our Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives and manage related data projects. In this role, you will define requirements for ESG data collection, storage, and distribution while developing a strategy to ensure accurate, reliable, and consistent data across the bank.

What You'll Do

  • Manage stream monitoring indicators, including deployment of roadmaps for external data sourcing transition plans and external data ingestion phases.
  • Produce deliverables according to the expected deadlines of project roadmaps.
  • Provide support for governance committees: produce operational and steering committee slides and dedicated support documents on business topics.
  • Monitor alerts and risks, define remediation plans, and determine actions based on criticality.
  • Prepare and maintain the business unit/strategic unit transition plan to the group's strategic vendors for data sourcing.
  • Analyze related impacts and propose adequate migration solutions.
  • Participate in and contribute to the deployment plan of the external ESG data ingestion tool supplier.
  • Ensure data expertise on external ESG data.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analyses as required.
  • Produce detailed business requirements when needed.
  • Coordinate IT stakeholders, business/strategic units, and external stakeholders involved in the stream.
  • Manage change for users regarding external data sourcing and data ingestion strategies.
  • Ensure consistency and coordination between change management, interface deployment, and stakeholder transition support.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience in data analysis to solve specific problems.
  • Experience in data projects within a data office or data management office.
  • Experience in transversal projects demonstrating analytical and coordination skills.
  • Experience working with data engineering teams and IT on data integration and infrastructure projects.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
  • Ability to structure and share the findings of analyses.
  • Ability to work independently: organizing work schedule, prioritizing tasks, setting deadlines in collaboration with team members.
  • Flexibility and ability to quickly learn new subjects.
  • Demonstrated team spirit.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Higher education degree, ideally in engineering or business.
  • Knowledge of ESG concepts, ESG regulatory requirements, and the bank’s business lines (retail and non-retail).

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive compensation & remuneration, including annual performance bonus.
  • Preventive healthcare plan, and group health & life insurance.
  • Wide range of flexible benefits within a monthly budget.
  • Office perks, wellbeing and mental health programs.
  • Various social benefits and bonuses for personal or family events.
  • 9-to-5 workday & flexible working environment (Hybrid).
  • Additional paid and unpaid time off, including Sabbatical leave.
  • Learning and growth opportunities based on individual development and career plans.
  • Unlimited access to various eLearning resources.
