About the Role
The role involves delivering high-level customer service support within the hazardous waste services division, handling escalated issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as a key liaison between clients and internal departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve escalated customer inquiries related to hazardous waste services
- Serve as a primary point of contact for complex service issues
- Ensure accurate documentation of customer interactions and service requests
- Collaborate with operations teams to address service delivery challenges
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local hazardous waste regulations
- Support the onboarding process for new hazardous waste clients
- Review service orders for accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Assist in resolving billing discrepancies specific to hazardous waste handling
- Track and report on customer service performance metrics
- Escalate technical or operational issues to appropriate departments
- Provide guidance to junior customer service staff
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hazardous waste handling procedures
- Coordinate with field personnel to ensure timely service execution
- Respond to customer requests within defined service level agreements
- Ensure proper classification and documentation of hazardous materials
- Support emergency response coordination when required
- Participate in internal audits related to customer service and compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve customer service processes
- Assist in training initiatives for customer service protocols
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and operational data
Nice to Have
- Certification in hazardous waste management (e.g., CHMM, HAZWOPER)
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise software
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience in customer service
- Knowledge of emergency response protocols for chemical incidents
- Bilingual communication skills
