Vaughan Regional Medical Center, part of ScionHealth, is looking for an ER Team Lead to guide our emergency department registration team. You will ensure the timely and accurate collection of patient information while providing direct support, training, and leadership to registration staff, with a focus on quality, compliance, and patient experience.
What You'll Do
- Monitor daily operations and workflow of the ER Registration team.
- Verify insurance benefits and collect required payments, including co-pays and deductibles.
- Refer patients to financial counselors as needed.
- Provide orientation, coaching, and mentoring to new and existing staff.
- Support performance evaluations and monitor quality assurance metrics and upfront collections.
- Ensure accurate entry of demographic and billing information into the registration system.
- Explain registration documents and processes to patients and caregivers.
- Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams for effective communication and patient transfers.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities at least one weekend per month.
- Promote excellent customer service and patient experience.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent, including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the role's essential functions.
- Prior registration and supervisory experience in a hospital or physician office setting.
- Prior experience demonstrating strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance rules and regulations.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience demonstrating familiarity with medical terminology.

You will oversee the ER Registration staff and serve as a key liaison between registration personnel, clinical teams, and leadership.

This is an onsite position based in Palestine, TX.
