What You'll Do
Oversee the operation and growth of integrated Engineering Test Service Centers, directing teams focused on Materials and Processes, Environmental Testing, and Propulsion Test. Guide technical direction and resource planning to support current hypersonic program objectives while expanding future test capabilities.
- Collaborate with technical leads to manage staff and coordinate cross-functional testing initiatives
- Develop and execute long-term capability roadmaps, including lab expansions and technology upgrades
- Manage operational budgets, capital expenditures, and internal research and development funding
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering programs, providing peer review and technical input during design and proposal phases
- Balance engineering integrity with project constraints to manage risk and ensure test validity
- Lead investigations into system failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate deep technical knowledge and leadership experience in one or more of the following domains: materials and processes, environmental test, or propulsion test.
- Proven experience in engineering test design, execution, and lab operations
- Background in managing technical teams, including hiring and performance oversight
- Experience managing budgets and leading capital improvement projects
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical findings to varied audiences
- Familiarity with standards such as ASTM, MIL-STD-810, and MMPDS
- Ability to engage with external stakeholders and customers
- Skilled in applying analytical reasoning to solve complex, multi-disciplinary engineering challenges
- Capacity to work autonomously in a fast-evolving environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance
