Trane Technologies is looking for an Engineering Technician to join the Applied Mechanics team at Thermo King. In this hands-on role, you will support critical testing for Transport Refrigeration product designs, addressing reliability in acoustics, vibrations, and fatigue. You'll work closely with product development teams and global engineering support to validate designs and ensure product durability.
What You'll Do
- Assist in planning and executing tests to validate simulation models, assess risk, and complete full durability tests.
- Support laboratory operations by performing routine tests and procedures.
- Calibrate, instrument, and perform standard and non-standard tests to collect critical project data.
- Assist senior technicians with more complex testing procedures.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and perform required quality assurance.
- Apply engineering principles and techniques to the validation and qualification of products.
- Follow existing test procedures, documenting and effectively communicating results.
- Support the operation, maintenance, and repair of applied mechanics lab assets.
- Conduct testing for structural reliability.
- Detail documentation of testing progress, observations, and results with support from test engineers.
- Support process improvement activities for individual and group work.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma.
- 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical experience (e.g., mechanic, service technician, fabricator).
- Experience with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
- Experience with data acquisition is required.
Nice to Have
- An engineering technology or associate's degree.
- Experience with high-speed data acquisition.
- Experience in performing applied mechanics tests.
- Experience with structural data acquisition systems (hardware and software) and mechanical strain measurement.

- Compensation range: $43,000 – $93,000
