About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to guide a distributed engineering team through the full development lifecycle, from planning to delivery, while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working remotely
- Collaborate with product and design teams to define technical roadmaps
- Oversee sprint planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects
- Conduct regular performance reviews and career development discussions
- Identify and resolve team blockers to maintain development velocity
- Promote best practices in code quality, testing, and system architecture
- Support hiring efforts by participating in technical interviews
- Foster a culture of transparency, inclusion, and technical excellence
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align on goals
- Drive engineering initiatives that improve scalability and reliability
- Manage team workload to balance feature development and tech debt
- Encourage knowledge sharing through documentation and team sessions
- Evaluate tools and technologies for team adoption
- Ensure engineering processes are efficient and adaptable
- Champion engineering best practices across the organization
Nice to Have
- Experience scaling engineering teams from small to mid-size
- Background in building real-time applications
- Familiarity with React or similar front-end libraries
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools
- Exposure to compliance or regulated industries
- Prior work in early-stage startups
