Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers
- Oversee the design and implementation of critical backend systems
- Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to define priorities
- Ensure engineering practices meet reliability and security standards
- Drive incident response and post-mortem processes
- Support career development and performance evaluations
- Promote a culture of operational excellence
- Manage sprint planning and delivery timelines
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies when appropriate
- Foster cross-team collaboration on shared infrastructure
- Maintain system observability and monitoring coverage
- Balance technical debt with feature development
- Improve engineering onboarding and documentation
- Champion code quality and testing standards
- Coordinate with compliance and security teams
- Respond to production issues as needed
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across engineering groups
- Optimize team workflows and development velocity
- Represent engineering in cross-functional planning
- Ensure alignment with long-term technical roadmap
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a technical field
- Experience in a regulated financial environment
- Prior work with real-time transaction systems
