Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and implementation of platform-level services
- Guide technical direction for infrastructure and tooling projects
- Support career development and performance growth for team members
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform goals with product needs
- Drive engineering best practices including code quality and system reliability
- Participate in architectural discussions and long-term planning
- Ensure systems are secure, observable, and maintainable
- Facilitate incident response and post-mortem processes
- Promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Balance technical debt with feature development priorities
- Recruit and onboard new engineering talent
- Foster inclusive team communication and decision-making
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies when appropriate
- Monitor team velocity and adapt processes for better outcomes
- Represent platform engineering in leadership discussions
