Pivotal Health is hiring an Engineering Manager - Integrations

Responsibilities

  • Help establish and guide a new team by shaping hiring practices, defining scope, setting engineering culture, and clarifying ownership as the function evolves.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader by writing code, reviewing designs and pull requests, and influencing technical direction while mentoring team members.
  • Take full engineering responsibility for systems connecting the platform to clients, third-party data sources, healthcare providers, and partner APIs, ensuring long-term reliability and scalability.
  • Act as the technical representative in discussions with customers and partners to uncover integration needs, assess feasibility, and inform engineering priorities.
  • Work closely with product teams to define requirements, refine scope, and convert integration challenges into actionable development plans, contributing early to solution design.
  • Lead sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and task prioritization to ensure consistent delivery and continuous improvement on the engineering side.
  • Turn ambiguous or high-level problems into well-defined tasks by guiding the team to identify clear next steps, tradeoffs, and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and refine lightweight processes and team rituals that enhance productivity and focus without adding bureaucratic overhead.
  • Mentor engineers in technical execution, communication, and ownership, supporting career growth across individual contributor and management paths.
