Canva is hiring an Engineering Manager for our Cloud Enablement team within Core Infrastructure. Your mission is to lead a high-impact team responsible for the cloud foundations that all other teams depend on. You'll make governance invisible, automated, and enabling so engineers can innovate quickly across AWS and GCP.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coach a team of platform engineers building cloud landing zones, account vending, and governance foundations.
- Drive compliance by design through preventative controls, automation, and clear developer workflows.
- Partner closely with Security, Risk & Compliance, and Platform teams to deliver data-informed governance.
- Support Canva’s Containers Everywhere company goal, including establishing GCP as a first-class environment.
- Balance operational excellence with long-term platform strategy and scalability.
- Grow high performers through regular feedback, coaching, and career development.
- Advocate for governance as an enabler, not a blocker, to innovation.
What We're Looking For
- Managed infrastructure or platform teams through complex technical challenges.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure governance, ideally across AWS and/or GCP.
- Experienced in leading teams that operate critical, highly-scaled systems.
- Comfortable translating complex technical concepts for a wide range of stakeholders.
- Balance delivery, reliability, and long-term strategy with confidence.
- Build trust, psychological safety, and a strong team culture.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping teams find clarity.
