AB InBev is hiring an Engineering Coordinator - Java

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate backend engineering teams responsible for platforms that serve multiple countries, ensuring scalable, reliable and high-quality deliveries
  • Drive execution and delivery across pods (squads), ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines
  • Act as a facilitator for agile ceremonies, removing impediments and improving team flow and predictability
  • Partner closely with Product, Architecture and other engineering teams to define and evolve solutions
  • Support developers' career growth through regular feedback, performance evaluations and development plans
  • Promote engineering excellence, ensuring adoption of best practices in software design, observability, and reliability
  • Hands-on with monitoring, code review, configuration tasks and deploy
  • Support and guide the team on technical decisions when needed, being a strong partner for senior engineers
  • Ensure systems are designed for scale, resiliency and performance in a distributed microservices environment
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and DevOps mindset

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related fields
  • Previous experience leading backend engineering teams
  • Strong experience with Java ecosystem and backend development
  • Experience designing and operating distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic or similar)
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, system integration and event-driven architectures
  • Strong knowledge of software design principles, design patterns and best practices
  • Experience with testing strategies (unit, integration, automation, performance)
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with high-scale systems across multiple countries or regions
  • Experience with pricing, e-commerce or financial domains
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience influencing technical decisions across multiple teams
