Responsibilities
- Coordinate backend engineering teams responsible for platforms that serve multiple countries, ensuring scalable, reliable and high-quality deliveries
- Drive execution and delivery across pods (squads), ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines
- Act as a facilitator for agile ceremonies, removing impediments and improving team flow and predictability
- Partner closely with Product, Architecture and other engineering teams to define and evolve solutions
- Support developers' career growth through regular feedback, performance evaluations and development plans
- Promote engineering excellence, ensuring adoption of best practices in software design, observability, and reliability
- Hands-on with monitoring, code review, configuration tasks and deploy
- Support and guide the team on technical decisions when needed, being a strong partner for senior engineers
- Ensure systems are designed for scale, resiliency and performance in a distributed microservices environment
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and DevOps mindset
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related fields
- Previous experience leading backend engineering teams
- Strong experience with Java ecosystem and backend development
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic or similar)
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, system integration and event-driven architectures
- Strong knowledge of software design principles, design patterns and best practices
- Experience with testing strategies (unit, integration, automation, performance)
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
