Lidl is looking for an Employee Relations Manager to serve as an independent, expert point of contact for employee relations, compliance, and employment law. You will provide crucial support and guidance across the organisation, manage legal proceedings, and help shape our HR compliance strategies. What You'll Do
- Provide expert guidance to the HR Service Delivery team on managing risk for contentious employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues.
- Review and advise on all employee relations documentation.
- Support HR Service Delivery in managing complex complaints, Grievances, and Dignity at Work matters.
- Manage WRC claims and employment law legal matters within your remit.
- Prepare evidence and witnesses in advance of WRC cases.
- Work with legal representatives on case preparation for hearings.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to HR Managers and Dublin Head Office Managers on complex employee relations matters.
- Review and create Employee Relations policies.
- Deliver HR LM training in Dublin Head Office and bespoke employee relations training to regions as required.
- Provide employment law advice for relevant projects and manage projects where required.
- Act as a trusted, independent point of contact for HR compliance queries by building relationships across departments.
- Support regional HR Managers on HR compliance matters.
- Monitor and analyse relevant legislation and case law.
- Conduct systematic analysis of existing or potential HR compliance risks.
- Develop measures to eliminate or reduce HR compliance risks in cooperation with specialist departments.
- Coordinate and support specialist departments in introducing HR compliance controls and measures.
- Monitor and improve the CMS program for HR compliance.
- Develop, organise, and implement compliance training and awareness-raising measures.
- Communicate with courts, authorities, and external legal representatives.
- Fulfil information and reporting obligations in line with international requirements.
- Involve relevant stakeholders when identifying further legal risks beyond your own area of responsibility.
What We're Looking For
- In-depth knowledge of Employee Relations processes, HR compliance regulations, and employment law.
- Experience in developing and implementing HR compliance strategies, guidelines, and risk-minimising measures.
- Ability to analyse HR compliance and employee relations risks and minimise them through preventive strategies.
- Basic understanding of legal risks beyond your own area of responsibility.
- 3+ years of experience in Employee Relations or HR Compliance.
- Optimistic, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to developing a positive working environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills; empathetic, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all organisational levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong track record in conflict resolution techniques.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- A solid understanding of employment legislation.
- A full driving license is essential.

- Experience in mediation is an advantage.
- German language skills are an advantage.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid role, allowing for up to two days of remote work per week. The position is based in Ireland or Northern Ireland.
