Stanford Health Care is hiring a Employee Labor Relations Program Manager to join our team. Under the general direction of the ELR Director, you will serve as a key consultant and first point of contact for labor relations, providing analysis, training, and support on labor agreements and related processes.
What You'll Do
- Lead efforts to conduct highly complex analyses across Labor Relations programs, policies, statutes, and initiatives.
- Gather and review data, conduct research, coordinate with managers, and prepare analysis, reports, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with ELR leadership to develop, implement, and monitor data dashboards for the betterment of ELR processes, programs, and reporting.
- Analyze RFI, notices, bargaining, grievances, and arbitration information to identify trends and inform reporting.
- Assist with preparation of ELR Executive Summaries and annual reporting.
- Collaborate with ELR partners and coordinate data extraction for ELR-related annual audits.
- Formulate strategies for process improvement, education, and enforcement of labor relations issues, updates to collective bargaining agreements, and processes for stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on contract interpretation and application.
- Partner with ELR colleagues to effectively implement cross-functional solutions to common concerns.
- Project Lead complex bi-annual and monthly LR initiatives.
- Communicate with and respond to a variety of inquiries.
- Prepare correspondence and reports and attend high-level stakeholder meetings.
- Assist with implementation of strategic ELR projects and initiatives.
- Develop and coordinate policy or program communications.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Employee and Labor Relations Director or designee.
- Build relationships with employee representatives, including union leadership.
- Support union contract negotiations, including preparing documentation and drafting proposals.
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and employment policies.
- Perform activities associated with the resolution of grievances.
- Coordinate the grievance IME Function Duties process and meetings.
- Process and respond to low-complexity union grievances and data collection for Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Assist internal business partners with investigations of labor relations issues according to contracts and policies to develop an action plan.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
- 4+ years of experience in workforce and labor relations, HR Operations, Strategic Operations, Program/Policy Management, or a related field within matrixed organizations.
- 8+ years of experience managing projects or programs with a track record of driving complex, cross-functional work.
- Experience improving processes, implementing workflows, or enabling technology solutions within HR/ER/LR.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional partner management skills across levels and regions.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform decisions, create reporting, and assess program performance.
- Experience managing documentation, standardization, and governance processes at scale.
- Ability to operate with speed, precision, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a confidential environment.
- Exceptional levels of professionalism and tact.
Nice to Have
- Master’s Degree in business, industrial relations, conflict resolution or related field or J.D.
- Knowledge of employee and labor relations practices and federal and state regulations pertaining to labor issues.
- Knowledge of performance management practices.
- Experience in labor or industrial relations.
- Experience with the collective bargaining process.
- Experience in drafting proposals in bargaining.
- Experience in healthcare and/or higher education.
- Experience in Lean Methodology and Policy Management.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation generally starts at $70.52 - $93.43 per hour.
