Motorola Solutions is looking for an Emergency Call Handling Project Manager to ensure the successful implementation, cutover, and support hand-off of our critical public safety communications projects. You will be responsible for managing comprehensive project plans, budgets, and risks while serving as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal staff.
What You'll Do
- Account for the successful implementation, cutover, and hand-off to Support for emergency call handling projects.
- Write, manage, and implement the master project plan using automated project management tools and processes.
- Measure performance against project goals.
- Understand the business implications for all assigned projects.
- Acquire and maintain a high-level understanding of relevant internal workflows and practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal staff.
- Establish and maintain contact with customers and channel partners related to their specific project.
- Provide regular status updates.
- Organize and facilitate meetings with internal and external customers to ensure achievement of goals, milestones, and deadlines.
- Initiate, generate, and maintain project schedules.
- Lead scheduling status reviews with team members to track progress against plan.
- Initiate, generate, and maintain project budgets (labor and capital) and financial objectives (revenue, margin, cash).
- Analyze project costs and lead cost status reviews with team members and management.
- Perform detailed analyses of program data and recommend solutions to customers.
- Provide ongoing assessment and coverage of project risks.
- Alert management of any problems that could severely affect project achievements and prepare action plans to resolve issues.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma, Technical Certificate, Associates, or Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, IT, or Technology.
- 3+ years of Project Management experience.
- 3+ years of Emergency Call handling experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
Nice to Have
- Ability to effectively lead and drive all assigned projects.
- Experience with Public Safety communications systems.
- Proficiency in developing project documents and experience with a cloud-based document management system (Google Workspace).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
- Understanding of local public safety customers (police, fire, EMS).
- Self-motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with regional and territorial management.
- Ability to effectively communicate with relevant peers and senior stakeholders.
