NinjaTech AI is hiring a part-time Email Marketing & Retention Manager. You will own the email marketing function end-to-end, from strategy to execution, focusing on engaging our nearly 1 million free users, optimizing onboarding, reducing churn, and driving revenue growth. This is a remote, hourly contract role requiring 5-10 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- Design and execute data-driven email campaigns to activate almost 1M free users and guide them toward paid conversion.
- Build sophisticated nurturing and retention flows to reduce churn and increase retention for the paid user base.
- Reimagine and improve onboarding and activation email sequences to increase product adoption.
- Create targeted campaigns that support upsell and renewal initiatives while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
- Own the email marketing function end-to-end, from strategy development to copywriting, design coordination, and deployment across the customer lifecycle.
- Design and build automated email flows for onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, win-back, and expansion, using behavioral triggers and advanced segmentation.
- Write engaging, conversion-focused email copy that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and implement advanced segmentation strategies to deliver personalized experiences based on user behavior, product usage, subscription tier, and lifecycle stage.
- Monitor and analyze key email metrics (open rates, CTRs, conversion rates, churn impact, revenue attribution) and continuously optimize campaigns through A/B testing and experimentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer journey, reduce friction points, and increase lifetime value through email marketing initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5+ years of hands-on email marketing experience in B2B SaaS and/or B2C environments, with a proven track record of managing email marketing end-to-end.
- Demonstrated experience building complex, multi-step email flows for onboarding, activation, retention, and expansion.
- Exceptional copywriting skills with ability to write clear, compelling, and conversion-focused email copy that engages diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to use analytics to drive decisions, with specific examples of improving open rates, CTRs, conversion rates, and retention metrics.
- Deep understanding of customer segmentation strategies and experience implementing sophisticated targeting based on behavior, lifecycle stage, and product usage.
- Ability to think beyond tactics and develop comprehensive email strategies that align with business goals and customer needs.
- Comfortable working independently in a part-time capacity while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.

Team & Environment
You will report directly to the VP of Product. We are a fast-paced and collaborative team that gets a lot done by ideating together and iterating quickly. Our engineering team is mostly ex-AWS, and our Product and UX team is ex-Google.
