Locomotive Manufacturing and Services S.A. de C.V. is looking for an Electrician to join our team building and rebuilding locomotives and locomotive assemblies. You will perform essential duties related to electrical systems, maintenance, and repair on heavy equipment.
What You'll Do
- Read electrical schematics and design basic electrical circuits.
- Operate electrical test equipment and install electrical components.
- Run, terminate, cut, and install cabling; pull wire harnesses through conduit.
- Drill and tap holes; clean, sandblast, and paint old parts.
- Know and understand FRA rules (training required).
- Interact with customers on a minimal basis.
What We're Looking For
- Five years equivalent experience building and/or maintaining heavy equipment.
- A strong understanding of locomotive maintenance and repair.
- Ability to travel extensively and communicate verbally with others.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rate/ratio/percent, and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp, pull, handle, feel, and reach; frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to work in awkward positions and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Nice to Have
- Manufacturing experience.
- Preferred experience working with diesel engines, propulsion, and pneumatics in large industries such as Rail, Agriculture, Mining, or Marine.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour.
