Boston Metal is hiring an Electrical Safety Specialist to implement its EHS program within a fast-paced, start-up environment. This role is central to building a world-class safety program, requiring collaboration across the organization to ensure we meet our mission of tapping into a sustainable future safely.
What You'll Do
- Develop, train, coach, and mentor teams in risk assessment, safe work practices, job hazard analysis, standard operating procedures, and process hazard analysis.
- Support the creation and implementation of high-hazard EHS programs, including electrical safety and lockout/tagout (LOTO), monitor results, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Conduct or participate in equipment inspections, audits, and incident investigations, identifying root causes and crafting corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) through to closure.
- Evaluate engineering and architectural designs for electrical safety concerns.
- Assist with contractor safety management programs.
- Ensure proper calibration and operation of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE) selection and maintenance.
- Actively participate in Boston Metal’s EHS Committee to catalyze the drive for safety culture.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience developing and implementing EHS programs, with specific expertise in electrical safety and lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, audits, and incident investigations.
- Experience evaluating engineering designs for safety compliance.
- Knowledge of contractor safety management and PPE programs.
- Strong training, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a dynamic, start-up environment.
