This role leads safety initiatives at customer project sites, driving adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards. The specialist promotes a proactive safety mindset, conducting observations, audits, and job permit reviews to maintain safe work environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture by modeling best practices and applying Stop Work Authority when necessary
- Conduct safety inspections, job permit management, and on-site orientations
- Lead or support incident investigations and emergency preparedness activities
- Deliver safety training components and communicate updates to project and corporate teams
- Perform audits of health and safety programs to ensure regulatory alignment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subcontractors to reinforce safe operations
Qualifications
Candidates must have completed OSHA 30 within the past three years and hold OSHA 500 or 502 certification. A background in industrial and electrical safety within critical infrastructure construction is essential, with 3–5 years of field experience. Familiarity with TRIR and EMR metrics, lockout/tagout, confined space, and scaffolding standards under 1926 is required. Strong communication skills and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office are necessary. Willingness to travel and work on-site is expected. Valid background check clearance within the last seven years is mandatory.
Preferred candidates hold CHST, OHST, STS, CSP, or ASP certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
