EDP Renewables is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead to support the planning, early-stage design, and delivery readiness of mission-critical data centre infrastructure. This role spans MEP and civil infrastructure with a strong focus on low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, ensuring they meet data centre requirements for reliability, availability, and scalability.
What You'll Do
- Drive early-stage power capacity assessments and civil land studies, delivering preliminary layouts and concept design packages.
- Develop and coordinate electrical power infrastructure solutions, including utility interconnections, substations, MV/LV designs, emergency power, and grounding.
- Lead the integration of electrical systems with cooling, life safety, and civil infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and performance standards.
- Act as the primary technical interface between internal teams, Engineers of Record, EPC contractors, utilities, and operations stakeholders.
- Lead, coordinate, and review engineering deliverables from third-party consultants for technical accuracy, compliance, and adherence to schedule and budget.
- Perform, review, and approve electrical discipline calculations such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and grounding grid.
- Coordinate with electric utilities and retail service providers on capacity assessments, interconnection strategies, and technical requirements alignment.
- Support pre-FID and investment decision phases through value engineering, CAPEX optimization, and technical feasibility assessments.
- Support project execution through operational handover, ensuring design intent and reliability standards are met.
