The RF/Electrical Design Engineer will lead the electrical design and development of RF power amplifiers for defense communications, radar, and electronic warfare systems. Responsibilities include electromagnetic modeling, integration of MMICs, circuit design, testing, and support across the product lifecycle within enclosed and channelized environments.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed electromagnetic models using HFSS for multi-stage, high-gain, high-power solid-state RF and mmWave amplifiers in enclosed or channelized cavities.
- Integrate MMICs into various package housings and assemblies to enable innovative high-power RF solutions.
- Design and simulate advanced cascaded MMIC modules using 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic simulation tools.
- Develop PCB-level analog and power management circuits for MMIC biasing and system health monitoring.
- Perform product testing, optimization, and design verification in the laboratory environment.
- Analyze design verification test results and present findings to internal teams and external customers.
- Support products through all lifecycle phases including concept evaluation, development, qualification, and production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience simulating RF and microwave circuits using tools such as ADS, Microwave Office (MWO), or Cadence Spectre, with proficiency in electromagnetic and wave propagation simulation software.
- Solid understanding of RF and microwave engineering fundamentals, including S-parameters, impedance matching, and material permittivity.
- Knowledge of PCB design processes, with hands-on experience in schematic capture and layout for RF hardware preferred.
- Practical experience in a laboratory setting using RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
- Self-motivated with initiative and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
Nice to Have
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Analog or RF design.
