About the Role

This role involves creating and managing electrical building information models for complex data center environments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical BIM models for data center infrastructure
  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams to align model components
  • Ensure models comply with project specifications and industry standards
  • Produce construction documentation from BIM outputs
  • Perform clash detection and resolution using model coordination tools
  • Maintain model accuracy throughout project lifecycle phases
  • Integrate design changes into BIM models efficiently
  • Support project teams with model-based quantity takeoffs
  • Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders during design reviews
  • Apply data center-specific electrical standards to modeling practices
  • Optimize model organization for performance and scalability
  • Participate in BIM execution planning for new projects
  • Conduct quality checks on model deliverables
  • Assist in developing BIM standards and templates
  • Troubleshoot modeling software issues as needed
  • Support as-built modeling updates during construction
  • Work with IT systems to ensure data security and access controls
  • Utilize Revit and related tools for electrical system modeling
  • Coordinate conduit and cable tray routing in congested spaces
  • Ensure adherence to electrical safety and code requirements
  • Document modeling assumptions and design decisions
  • Participate in coordination meetings with project teams
  • Provide input on equipment placement and space requirements
  • Assist in training team members on BIM workflows
  • Support sustainable design goals through accurate modeling

Nice to Have

  • Revit certification or equivalent credential
  • Experience with data center commissioning processes
  • Knowledge of TIA-942 standards
  • Experience with laser scanning integration
  • Background in high-density power environments
  • Familiarity with seismic design requirements
  • Experience with modular data center designs
  • Working knowledge of EPMS software
  • Participation in BIM standard development
  • Experience with clash resolution workflows
