About the Role
The senior project manager will oversee complex education-related construction and development projects at USC, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution from planning through completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of capital projects within an academic environment
- Coordinate with university stakeholders to define project scope and objectives
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and institutional standards
- Supervise consultants, contractors, and design teams throughout project lifecycle
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Facilitate regular status meetings and prepare detailed project reports
- Manage change orders and risk mitigation strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for all project phases
- Ensure alignment with sustainability and accessibility requirements
- Oversee procurement processes and contract administration
- Coordinate utility and site logistics with campus operations
- Support design development and technical review processes
- Engage with faculty, staff, and administrators to address project impacts
- Ensure minimal disruption to academic activities during construction
- Implement quality control and assurance protocols
