About the Role

The senior project manager will oversee complex education-related construction and development projects at USC, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution from planning through completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of capital projects within an academic environment
  • Coordinate with university stakeholders to define project scope and objectives
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and institutional standards
  • Supervise consultants, contractors, and design teams throughout project lifecycle
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and prepare detailed project reports
  • Manage change orders and risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all project phases
  • Ensure alignment with sustainability and accessibility requirements
  • Oversee procurement processes and contract administration
  • Coordinate utility and site logistics with campus operations
  • Support design development and technical review processes
  • Engage with faculty, staff, and administrators to address project impacts
  • Ensure minimal disruption to academic activities during construction
  • Implement quality control and assurance protocols
  • Manage project closeout, including final inspections and handover
  • Support post-occupancy evaluations and lessons learned initiatives
  • Promote safety culture and adherence to on-site protocols
  • Utilize project management software for tracking and reporting
