About the Role

The Fedcap Group is hiring an Education and Training Instructor (Work Readiness Instructor) for our Skowhegan, Maine opportunity center. In this tech-savvy, people-facing role, you'll provide the high-energy training and instruction needed to help individuals overcome barriers and achieve 'Job Ready' status. You will deliver interactive workshops on career readiness and life skills, both in groups and through digital platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver workshops, training, and individual sessions to improve participant well-being and develop tailored work-focused action plans.
  • Conduct workshops on career development, stress management, conflict resolution, communication skills, digital literacy, English language skills, and parenting skills.
  • Provide staff training during onboarding and deliver continued professional development throughout the year.
  • Meet with participants one-on-one to discuss and explore options for further education and training.
  • Maintain participant records in FedcapCARES to ensure documentation meets all contractual and quality standards.
  • Meet personal performance targets, KPIs, and all quality and compliance measures by delivering high-quality employability services.
  • Ensure appropriate digital technologies are utilized in a private, confidential environment for remote training delivery.
  • Assist participants and staff in using technology, including working with them in business networking centers.
  • Plan and assist in developing workshop content and materials by researching best practices for working with adult learners.
  • Assign activities and learning assignments to participants and track their progress and completion.
  • Attend weekly evaluation and training team meetings to provide feedback on participant readiness for work.
  • Conduct academic, aptitude, and interest evaluations and make recommendations for further education, job training, and employment.
  • Evaluate credentials attained in other countries and assess their alignment with US and local employment and educational requirements.
  • Promote Fedcap Inc. positively with participants, coworkers, and external stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, vocational rehabilitation, life skills coaching, human services, a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of adult teaching experience, workshop facilitation, or workforce development coaching.
  • Or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with public assistance recipients, homeless individuals, formerly incarcerated individuals, individuals with disabilities, and/or those affected by the challenges associated with poverty.
