Darkroom is looking for a self-driven Video Editor to join our team. You will play a key role in developing marketing collateral and organic video content, using your editing skills to tell compelling stories that help our customers grow. You'll be part of a team dedicated to building the future of advertising.
What You'll Do
- Edit UGC-style videos in a variety of content formats.
- Develop and execute thumb-stopping social media video edits, layer audio seamlessly, and overlay text that drives key brand messaging.
- Brainstorm inventive edits and hooks that drive engagement and leverage new formats.
- Stay current on all social media platforms, ad offerings, content publishers, tools, trends, and best practices.
- Be a creative collaborator by being the voice of the brand and the influencer to create authentic and powerful content for all channels.
- Use video editing software, edit audio, and take direction while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide accessible content that includes closed captioning, voiceover, and overlay text in a variety of aspect ratios.
- Set up projects for edit staff, ingest and log footage, and work in tandem with edit staff to meet deadlines.
- Edit lower-level projects, maintain media storage (hard drives, servers, GDrive), master deliverables, and archive projects.
- Assist senior staff with edit and administrative needs.
- Version various aspect ratios of completed edits.
- Maintain all software and assets (Mac OSX, server operating system, frame.io, Vimeo, shared assets).
- Coordinate and troubleshoot edit equipment.
- Report to the Post-Production Supervisor and Producers, creating high-quality video edits for various media platforms.
- Perform creative editing by collaborating with the performance marketing team in reviewing ad analytics and performance.
What We're Looking For
- Experience creating platform native content (including video content and organic content), especially IG Reels, Meta ads, and TikTok viral video campaigns.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills with the ability to manage deliverables across an array of brands.
- Strong Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, and Typography skills.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and FCPX.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Media Encoder, After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop).
- Familiarity with broadcast finishing workflows (mix, color, VFX, conform, online).
- Familiarity working in a networked server environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of codecs and transcoding practices.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Proficient with animation and graphic design.
