Baptist Health is seeking an ED Cardiac Tech to join our team. In this full-time, days position, you will play a crucial role in assisting the nursing staff with patient monitoring and performing essential cardiac diagnostic procedures. You'll be based at Baptist Medical Center South.
What You'll Do
- Assist nursing staff in monitoring heart rhythms of patients on telemetry.
- Interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly and appropriately in the notification of nursing staff.
- Perform electrocardiographs as a team member within the Non-Invasive Cardiology area.
- Handle clerical operation of the EKG area, including preparation of data for physician interpretation, transcription, filing, and reporting to the medical record.
- Maintain some record keeping and posting of rhythm strips.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification.
- Successful completion of an EKG interpretation course and able to score 85% on rhythm strip exam within 6 weeks in position.
Nice to Have
- Prior training in EKG rhythm strip interpretation.
Team & Environment
You will work as a team member within the Non-Invasive Cardiology area.

This is an onsite position located at Baptist Medical Center South.
