Novartis is hiring an Executive Director, Access & Reimbursement NPS CV-East to lead a regionally aligned field team and strategy. This remote, field-based leadership role covers the East Coast territory from Maine to Georgia, including inland states like Michigan and Tennessee. You will be accountable as a national leader for Novartis Patient Support (NPS) field teams, co-creating execution strategies and delivering high business impact.
What You'll Do
- Attract, coach, and retain a high-performing team of Regional Directors and Access & Reimbursement professionals.
- Oversee recruiting, hiring, training, and staffing for the management and extended team.
- Provide frequent performance feedback and foster a team-oriented, supportive working environment.
- Oversee the performance management process and ensure fair, timely resolution of disciplinary actions.
- Foster an environment that rewards accomplishment and encourages advancement and retention.
- Create a team culture that embodies NPC Values and Behaviors and drives innovation, performance, and reputation.
- Translate national strategy to a regional level to enable appropriate execution and pull-through.
- Monitor field team operations to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Partner closely with the Customer Engagement Team to ensure strong collaboration and coordination of field activities.
- Integrate with Novartis leadership and collaborate across multi-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, Operations, Training, Legal, and Compliance.
- Develop a strong working relationship and consistently communicate with the Novartis Program Lead at HQ.
- Elevate challenges, escalations, and delays in treatment; partner with matrix teams to resolve issues.
- Facilitate a culture of collaboration and accountability through ongoing cadence discussions with leaders and partners.
- Understand and resolve questions associated with practice and patient reimbursement issues with third-party payers.
- Identify opportunities to complement NPC capabilities to strengthen patient access to therapy.
- Collaborate with NPS Analytics to design reports and tools to monitor and achieve business objectives.
- Drive functional leadership impact across the broader cross-portfolio of NPS Access & Reimbursement Teams.
- Maintain a deep understanding of NPC policies and perform all responsibilities with integrity.
- Handle Patient Identifiable Information (PII) appropriately and ensure team compliance.
- Identify and report adverse events via established Novartis systems.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years in reimbursement, contract strategy, managed care, sales/marketing or a related field.
- At least 5 years leading a regional or local team and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with highly complex practices and health systems to establish access and acquisition pathways.
- Strategic account management experience using a proactive approach to anticipate access hurdles.
- Deep expertise integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
- General knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
- Experience with specialty products acquired through specialty pharmacy networks and buy-and-bill processes, including acquisition, billing, coding, claims processing, and reimbursement.
- Possess a strong understanding of Commercial payers, Medicare plans, and state Medicaid in the geographic region.
- Proven track record building and motivating teams.
- Past success in the execution of launch strategies and plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven, successful history in a leadership and motivational role.
- Must live within the assigned territory (East Coast from Maine to Georgia, including Michigan and Tennessee) or close to a major airport near the geography.
- Ability to travel as required, potentially on short notice.
- Driving is an essential function of this role; must have a fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

- Advanced degree preferred (Majors preferred: Sciences, Business, Pharmacy, and Healthcare).

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $214,900.00 - $399,100.00 per year.

Work Mode
