About the Role
The Earth Sciences Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct independent research on the geology of the Rocky Mountains, with a focus on the tectonic and sedimentary history of the region. The researcher will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other scientists and contribute to the museum's educational programs and public outreach efforts.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute research projects on the geology of the Rocky Mountains.
- Analyze and interpret geological data.
- Prepare and publish research findings in scientific journals.
- Collaborate with other scientists and researchers.
- Contribute to the development of educational programs and public outreach efforts.
- Present research findings at scientific conferences and meetings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of research activities and findings.
- Assist in the curation of geological specimens and collections.
- Participate in fieldwork and expeditions as needed.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students and junior researchers.
- Develop and implement research proposals and grant applications.
- Conduct literature reviews and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
- Participate in departmental meetings and discussions.
- Contribute to the development of research protocols and methodologies.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for funding agencies and stakeholders.
- Participate in the planning and execution of research projects.
- Contribute to the development of research tools and techniques.
