Allstate is seeking an Early Career Trial Attorney to join our team. In this role, you will handle insurance defense litigation including bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, providing counsel to business clients and managing cases from inception to verdict. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
What You'll Do
- Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions.
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Interview clients and witnesses, draft summaries of their statements, and maintain communication records.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.
- Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctorate.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis.
- Demonstrates strong time management skills.
- Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.
- Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
- Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct.
- Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies.
- Must be a commutable distance to courthouses throughout Fresno County, California.

Work Mode
This is a remote position. You must be located within Fresno County, California, and be a commutable distance to courthouses throughout the county.
