Stericycle is looking for a Driver Route Hybrid NonCDL to join our team. This role is vital for providing industry-leading service, filling in for team members on vacation or sick leave across both our Shred-it and Medical Waste business routes. You will perform onsite/offsite document destruction or medical waste pickup and transport, maintaining our mission to protect health and well-being safely and responsibly.
What You'll Do
- Perform onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information or pick up and transport medical waste.
- Safely pick up and transport waste according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
- Plan your daily schedule based on customers’ needs by reviewing daily paperwork.
- Pick up specified waste from each customer site, ensuring proper packaging.
- Provide the highest level of customer service and communicate any issues for resolution.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip checks, and driver check-in on your assigned truck.
- Report any maintenance problems promptly.
- Operate company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service.
- Ensure DOT Driver Log is completed, if applicable.
- Maintain a high level of security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes.
- Service accounts using a hand-held device.
- Communicate with supervision regarding any changes to route pickups.
- Manage assigned routes ensuring timely and accurate service.
- Handle and respond to all customer problems and inquiries expediently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on your assigned truck.
What We're Looking For
- A current driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- You must be Age 21 or older.
- Ability for all CMV drivers to obtain a medical card by a certified medical examiner.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and make reports.
- May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of experience, preferably in driving Shred Trucks and Box Trucks.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
Team & Environment
You will be a member of the Operations team, reporting to a Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
