Hyatt Regency Lake Washington is looking for a Dock & Drink Food Truck Cook 2 to join our seasonal outdoor culinary team. This role requires excellent communication and culinary skills to work multiple stations, with a professional approach and attention to detail in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
- Set up your station, preparing mise en place and ensuring all ingredients are prepped, organized, and ready for daily service.
- Execute the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes according to established standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and timeliness.
- Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process, ensuring all dishes meet taste, texture, and presentation criteria.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth workflow; assist in training and mentoring junior staff as needed.
- Assist with inventory control, ensuring proper stock rotation, minimal waste, and timely replenishment.
- Keep your workstation clean, organized, and stocked throughout service, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Follow all food handling, sanitation, storage, and rotation protocols to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring orders are completed accurately and efficiently within required time frames.
- Assist with the ordering process by communicating par levels to the Chef.
What We're Looking For
- Refined verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills.
- Able to work all stations in the food truck.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in a hot kitchen.
- Possession of a food handler’s card.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Knowledge of kitchen appliance operation.
- Experience with cooler and inventory management.
- Must be over the age of 18.
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of previous line experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Culinary degree or related hotel experience.
