CVS Health is hiring a District Support Pharmacist to play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within our pharmacies. You will travel within your assigned district to cover pharmacist scheduling gaps, acting as a role model and supporting pharmacy teams and operations.
What You'll Do
- Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled; oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
- Support effective management of pharmacy inventory in all pharmacies worked, with a special focus on protecting cold chain products.
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills for the job as the industry evolves; actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge.
- Support access to care and help improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS Health policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
Nice to Have
- 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
Team & Environment
Works within the district under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager (PM) and Rx District Leader (DL).
