Sikich is hiring a Director of Valuation & Forensic to lead a key practice area. This role reports to the Principal in Charge of Valuation & Forensic and is central to executing complex valuation assignments and driving departmental growth.
What You'll Do
- Identify, develop, and close external leads for business valuation services across financial statement reporting, litigation, transactions, taxation, and financing.
- Work closely with equipment and real estate professionals on multi-disciplinary assignments.
- Prepare client contracts and engagement letters according to company standards.
- Lead the planning and execution of assignments, including proper staffing and time budgets.
- Participate in regular engagement review and quality control processes.
- Maintain a 50% chargeability rate.
- Participate in department-wide training initiatives and the recruiting program.
- Participate in firm-wide marketing efforts within various industry niches.
- Maintain current knowledge through continuing education and professional organization involvement, applying it to new growth initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Current certification as an ASA or ABV.
- 10 to 20 years of direct previous experience in business valuation.
- Recognized expert in business valuation and intangible asset appraisal with specific experience and contacts in tax, transaction, litigation, financing, and financial statement reporting.
- Superior skills in financial modeling and expert-level financial analysis.
- Proven ability to generate revenue and successfully complete projects for attorneys and business entities, with the capacity to source and close $1 million in revenue annually.
- Knowledge of and ability to work with real estate and equipment specialists.
- Superior project planning, management, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to train staff and provide excellent quality control and client service.
- Extensive testimony experience in a range of matters.
- Active membership in relevant professional associations, including committee participation and speaking engagements.
- Active in producing thought leadership and collaborating with marketing personnel.
- Ability to work with other company specialties for cross-selling and complex consulting.
- A Servant Leader focused on employee engagement and development.
- Solutions Focused, collaborative, able to instill trust, and skilled in gaining support and influencing others.
Nice to Have
- MBA or MA in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification.
