About the Role

Fehr Graham, a Trilon Group company, is hiring a Director of Water Resources Engineering. You will lead project teams in the design, analysis, and management of water resources projects for public and private sector clients. Your work will focus on stormwater management, drainage, and transportation infrastructure for agencies like the NJ Turnpike Authority and NJDOT.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a project team of engineers, designers, and field personnel.
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders and interface with state and local agency clients.
  • Prepare scope, schedule, and budget for new projects and assist in proposal preparation.
  • Work on challenging assignments investigating, troubleshooting, and solving engineering and construction-related issues.
  • Prepare, review, and/or approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimates.
  • Negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clients.
  • Coordinate design activities to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Prepare clear reports and studies and perform independent reviews of others' work.
  • Manage staff work assignments and assist with department workload projections.
  • Coordinate with office management and other project managers to share resources.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering License in New Jersey.
  • 15+ years of experience in water resource engineering and design.
  • Proven ability to manage engineering, design, or construction projects.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge and experience with hydrologic and hydraulic software like HEC-RAS, Hydraflow, StormCAD, and HydroCAD.
  • Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and multi-discipline team members.
  • Proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with public agencies.
  • Knowledge of NJDEP SWM regulations.
  • Proficiency in Civil3D and Microstation.
