Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a cohesive global tax strategy that supports evolving business goals
- Guide executive leadership on tax consequences related to corporate structure, financing decisions, and international expansion
- Enhance tax efficiency by identifying and executing strategic planning opportunities
- Oversee compliance for federal, state, and international tax obligations, including income, sales/use tax, VAT, and payroll taxes
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax provisions and filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 740) and international regulations
- Direct responses to tax audits and inquiries from domestic and foreign tax authorities
- Develop and manage indirect tax strategy for AI infrastructure, APIs, and usage-based service offerings globally
- Provide expert guidance on U.S. and international indirect tax issues, particularly sales tax and VAT/GST, with emphasis on cloud, compute, and AI products
- Evaluate tax impacts of subscription-based and usage-driven pricing models for AI services
- Collaborate with Product, Finance, and Legal teams to design tax-efficient enterprise contracts and bundled offerings, influencing pricing, invoicing, and market entry strategies
- Advise on tax considerations for data center operations, including lease and colocation agreements
- Manage sales and use tax obligations on infrastructure and hardware acquisitions, securing tax-exempt status where applicable across jurisdictions
- Identify and facilitate qualification for data center-related tax incentives and credits
- Oversee property tax liabilities associated with data center assets
- Track and analyze emerging tax legislation affecting data center and infrastructure operations
- Support entry into new markets through entity structuring and transfer pricing analysis
- Establish and document transfer pricing policies to comply with international standards
- Design and implement scalable tax processes, incorporating automation to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate across departments to strengthen tax provision workflows and system integrations
