As the Director of Purchasing, you will oversee all procurement activities at a premier beachfront resort, ensuring seamless operations across departments while maintaining strict compliance with corporate and local guidelines. Your role is central to maintaining supply efficiency, cost control, and inventory accuracy in support of an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full adherence to internal controls, policies, and authorization protocols for all purchasing contracts and procurement activities.
- Manage competitive bidding processes and maintain complete, up-to-date documentation for all contracts.
- Track and report on slow-moving inventory, distributing monthly summaries to finance and department leaders.
- Verify that all purchase requisitions are fully documented, approved, and accounted for before orders are issued.
- Supervise receiving operations, ensuring all deliveries are accurately recorded and handled according to established procedures.
- Support accounts payable by investigating invoice discrepancies and resolving procurement-related issues.
- Maintain secure, organized, and clean storage environments across all inventory areas.
- Set and monitor par levels to optimize stock availability while minimizing excess.
- Coordinate capital project purchases with corporate procurement and external contractors as needed.
- Conduct regular quality and hygiene audits to ensure compliance and staff readiness.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with finance leadership.
- Participate in periodic physical inventories for food, beverage, equipment, and supplies.
- Track daily food and beverage costs and contribute to cost reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team through coaching, training, and career support.

Qualifications
Applicants should bring at least two years of experience in strategic procurement within a luxury resort setting. A deep understanding of high-end resort operations and guest expectations is required.
