As Director of People Operations, you will oversee core HR functions including benefits, payroll, leave management, and employee records, ensuring seamless experiences across a distributed workforce.
What You’ll Do
- Direct daily HR operations with precision, maintaining accurate systems and consistent processes
- Supervise and develop a small team of HR professionals, fostering growth and accountability
- Lead employee relations investigations with fairness, discretion, and thorough documentation
- Manage the employee handbook lifecycle, aligning policies with legal updates and business needs
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Keep HR records audit-ready and workflows efficient as the organization scales
- Collaborate with Legal and Finance on risk assessment and employment-related matters
- Design and implement scalable HR infrastructure to support continued growth
What We’re Looking For
You bring deep experience in HR operations, with a track record of managing complex compliance environments and leading teams through change. You thrive in fast-moving settings and excel at turning ambiguity into structure.
- Minimum of 8 years in progressive HR roles with direct operational responsibility
- Proven expertise in employment law, investigations, and HR compliance
- Experience managing HR coordinators or administrators
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Background in high-growth or scaling organizations is highly valued
