About the Role
The Director of People and Culture will lead the strategic development of human resources and organizational culture, ensuring practices reflect core values, support employee growth, and enable long-term mission success through inclusive and data-informed approaches.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of people strategy in alignment with organizational objectives
- Develop and maintain equitable HR policies and procedures
- Oversee talent acquisition strategies to attract diverse, high-potential candidates
- Manage employee onboarding, performance evaluation, and professional development systems
- Champion a culture of inclusion, belonging, and continuous feedback
- Guide leadership in team development and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and employment standards
- Evaluate and improve compensation and benefits frameworks
- Lead organizational change initiatives with clear communication and stakeholder engagement
- Build data-driven HR metrics to assess workforce health and program effectiveness
- Foster strong employee relations across all levels of the organization
- Support the development of leadership pipelines and succession planning
- Partner with executives to align culture with strategic goals
- Implement learning and development programs for staff at all levels
- Drive engagement through regular listening strategies and action planning
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS management
- Promote wellness and work-life balance through supportive policies
- Ensure consistent application of disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy with measurable outcomes
- Represent people functions in board-level discussions and planning sessions
