UtilitiesOne is hiring a Director of OSP Construction to lead our Telecommunications Division in the Florida market. You will be responsible for providing a turnkey solution for companies building FTTH networks by developing the construction model, overseeing field operations, and managing the team and vendor relationships.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement our end-to-end construction model to standardize processes, systems, and tracking.
- Oversee construction field operations, including supervision of in-house crews, subcontractors, and inspection activities.
- Recruit, manage, and grow our OSP Construction team.
- Identify additional subcontractors and resources to support various construction projects, overseeing their quality and schedule.
- Communicate expectations effectively and frequently to external vendors and internal team members.
- Manage and develop our construction vendor relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Work with the bids and proposals team to lead the effort when responding to RFPs.
- Lead managers on all technical and operational issues for internal or external inquiries.
- Cultivate working relationships with customers to identify and support project requirements and ensure efficient processes are in place.
- Work on improving our Construction Processes, Program Management, Operational Support Practices, and Financial Performance.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 7-9 years of inside & outside plant experience in telecommunications with in-depth knowledge of ISP/OSP equipment, designs, and construction/installation, or equivalent training and experience.
- Located in Florida.
- Deep understanding of the work, processes, and industry trends.
- Ability to lead a group of individual contributors to accomplish departmental goals.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills to work cross-functionally with internal teams, contractors, and external vendors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network topologies spanning switching, access, and transport portions of the network.
