The Director of Media will lead the transformation of David Laroche's personal brand into a global, iconic company brand for Paradox, an EdTech company building an Operating System for Greatness. This role requires creative authority over a dual-brand strategy, end-to-end content creation, and leadership of a high-performance content team to produce cinematic, conversion-driven media that disrupts the self-help industry.
What You'll Do
- Architect a symbiotic dual-brand strategy where David Laroche’s personal brand and Paradox’s company brand reinforce each other without cannibalization.
- Propose radical new formats (e.g., documentaries, reality shows, conceptual shorts) that break the norms of the self-help industry.
- Define distinct editorial lines for each platform: Depth & Search for YouTube, Aesthetic & Vibe for Instagram, and Authority & Authenticity for LinkedIn.
- Take full responsibility for the entire production chain: writing hooks, storyboarding narratives, and ensuring final cuts match the creative vision.
- Deliver on all pitched concepts by sourcing, hiring, and onboarding necessary talent (e.g., motion designers, drone operators, niche experts).
- Treat David Laroche as the 'Actor' on set by ensuring flawless scripts, sets, and direction so he can perform without mental load.
- Lead the internal content team (Factory Manager, Video Editors, Graphic Designers) by setting tempo, culture, and daily standards of excellence.
- Provide high-level artistic direction and serve as the final quality check; no content is published unless it meets the 'Paradox Standard' of aesthetics and storytelling.
- Challenge the team to continuously upskill in areas like sharper cuts, better sound design, and stronger visual storytelling.
- Treat content as the primary acquisition channel by collaborating with the Head of Growth to produce conversion-focused assets for ads.
- Analyze retention graphs, CTR, and CPL to iterate quickly, killing underperforming content and aggressively scaling what works.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience growing a media brand, YouTube channel, or personal brand to significant scale (100k+ followers or millions of views).
- Understanding of virality and retention mechanics.
- Experience managing a creative team (editors, designers) and providing feedback that elevates work from 'good' to 'masterpiece'.
- Elite scripting skills with demonstrable examples of high-performing scripts.
- Ability to structure narratives, write scroll-stopping hooks, and maintain audience engagement for 20+ minutes.
- Experience in environments where content directly drove business results (ads, launches, conversions), not just vanity metrics.
- Intolerance for mediocrity and strong aesthetic 'Taste'—visibly pained by poor design, clumsy edits, or weak headlines.
- Deep obsession with psychology—understanding why people click, share, and emotionally engage with content.
- Proven 'Doer' mentality with authority: capable of scripting, directing, and editing when necessary.
- No ego—willingness to let go of ideas that fail, analyze data, pivot quickly, and ship new concepts with energy.
- Native or bilingual proficiency in French.
- Fluent English, with ability to hold detailed conversations with English-speaking colleagues.
- Written communication in English is required.
