About the Role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Marketing for Pier One Sydney Harbour. This role serves as the commercial and creative engine behind the hotel's brand and revenue growth, operating at the intersection of business performance, luxury brand-building, and cultural storytelling.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and lead integrated, insight-driven marketing strategies to accelerate revenue growth, expand market share, and sharpen competitive positioning.
  • Own end-to-end planning, execution, and optimization of all marketing activity across core revenue streams, including rooms, food & beverage, weddings, and MICE.
  • Act as custodian and champion of the Pier One brand story, ensuring all touchpoints reinforce the hotel's identity and deepen cultural relevance.
  • Conceive and activate signature experiences and cultural moments that celebrate the harbourfront location and build emotional resonance.
  • Operate as the property's senior marketing authority and strategic partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee.
  • Work in close alignment with Sales and Revenue Management to optimize channel mix, accelerate direct demand, and maximize revenue.
  • Lead the development, management, and accountability of the marketing budget with a focus on return on marketing spend.
  • Partner strategically with Marriott Field Marketing and Digital teams and orchestrate agency resources.
  • Build and steward a high-value network of media, creative, and strategic partners.
  • Cultivate transformative brand partnerships and cultural collaborations.
  • Inspire, develop, and lead the marketing team.
  • Champion a data-led marketing culture using analytics and insights to sharpen strategy.
  • Ensure all marketing activity aligns with Marriott International brand standards and Pier One brand philosophy.

  • Relevant experience in a similar managerial or leadership role.
  • Working rights in Australia.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the hotel's Executive Committee.
