As Director of Business Development for the Middle East, you will drive growth in one of the most dynamic technology markets globally. You'll identify and secure large-scale opportunities in AI and data center infrastructure manufacturing, focusing on KSA, UAE, and the broader GCC region. This role demands strategic vision, deep regional expertise, and the ability to navigate complex, multi-party sales cycles involving sovereign entities, government programs, and major cloud providers.
What You'll Do
- Originate and lead high-value sales processes, typically exceeding $20 million, from initial engagement through contract close
- Develop new client relationships with key decision-makers in government, telecom, and cloud infrastructure sectors
- Shape go-to-market strategies tailored to regional priorities, including Vision 2030 and national digital transformation initiatives
- Build and manage a network of partners and channels to scale market presence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet technical and regulatory requirements
- Ensure alignment with local procurement rules, data sovereignty laws, and national program objectives
- Represent the company at high-level industry and government forums across the region
- Travel frequently—up to 50%—to support client engagements and regional expansion
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years in enterprise-level business development within the Middle East, with proven success in infrastructure technology sales
- History of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals valued between $10M and $100M+
- Existing executive-level relationships in KSA and UAE, particularly with ministries, PIF-linked organizations, and major operators like G42, STC, e&, Mobily, and Khazna
- Solid grasp of hyperscale computing, AI infrastructure, and sovereign cloud dynamics
- Background in data centers, automation, advanced manufacturing, or deep-tech environments
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and effective in distributed, fast-moving environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Arabic is a strong advantage
- Experience selling data center colocation, AI infrastructure, or automation platforms
- Track record scaling early-stage technologies in GCC markets
- Familiarity with robotics, intelligent automation, or deep-tech ventures
- Prior work in high-growth technology companies with global ambitions
