Honeywell is hiring a Director, Government Relations - International Trade, Licensing, and Tax. You will be responsible for advising on and advocating for legislative and regulatory trade and tax policies that support the company’s business objectives. This role involves guiding the business on relevant tax, grant, and incentive benefits while providing critical support for export-import activities and major contracts.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the subject matter expert on trade, tax, tariffs, and exports.
- Advocate in Congress and the Executive Branch for favorable policy outcomes.
- Implement strategies to secure legislative, regulatory, and policy outcomes favorable to the company.
- Develop business strategies to shape and monitor the impacts of trade and tax agreements.
- Track and report on tariffs, assess their impacts, and identify and guide potential mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate consultants and trade associations to support business objectives across tax, licensing, and trade equities.
- Monitor and engage, as necessary, on relevant tax and trade policies of foreign governments.
- Maintain key relationships with Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury and other relevant regulatory and government entities, as well as international counterparts and embassies.
- Support export compliance activities.
- Secure US government advocacy for strategic deal pursuits.
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of experience in either a government relations role in a large multi-national company, trade association, or with one or more US government departments and agencies.
- Substantial demonstrated policy experience in international trade, tax, and export policy.
- Significant experience interacting with officials from different countries and cultures.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Excellent external stakeholder management and engagement skills (senior public officials, Members of Congress, senior executives).
- Highly effective communications skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skill in synthesizing complex information from multiple sources, identifying and analyzing the most relevant points for specific audiences, and communicating effectively verbally and in written formats, including PowerPoint.
- Acts with urgency, able to prioritize decisions and mitigate risk where needed.
- Strategic thinker that achieves results.
- Self-motivated, dedicated team player with a keen sense of accountability.
