Datasite is looking for a Director, Data Operations & Engineering (Finance) to lead the evolution of our financial data ecosystem. You will own Data Assets, transforming raw data into high-value, reusable Data Products using tools like Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI. This role bridges the gap between back-end engineering and front-end product delivery to ensure data is actionable for business stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design of back-end data models and Snowflake schemas for long-term scalability and high-concurrency usage.
- Oversee development and maintenance of automated ELT pipelines using dbt, ensuring version control, documentation, data lineage, and data quality.
- Shift from static reporting to Data Product development, using Power BI to build interactive tools with intuitive, consistent design.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to define and standardize core business metrics (KPIs) for consistency across dashboards.
- Empower non-technical stakeholders by building 'Certified Semantic Models' for safe, self-service reporting.
- Lead and grow a team of Data Engineers, Architects, and BI Experts, providing hands-on technical guidance in SQL, dbt, and DAX.
- Act as the primary translator between technical engineering constraints and business requirements from Finance, Ops, and Marketing.
- Drive a culture of discovery by performing deep investigations into data anomalies to provide proactive business recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in Data/Analytics.
- At least 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience launching internal data products or tools that achieved high user adoption.
- Expert knowledge of the Snowflake + dbt + Power BI ecosystem.
- Deep mastery of DAX, Power BI Service architecture, and advanced visualization techniques.
- High proficiency in Snowflake and dbt, knowing how to structure a data warehouse.
- SQL Power User with ability to perform deep-dive investigations and complex data discovery.
- Deep understanding of how business metrics (e.g., LTV, CAC, Margin) translate into data requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills, with ability to pitch a 'data product' vision to the C-suite.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, business, economics, etc.
Nice to Have
- MBA or Master’s in quantitative disciplines such as analytics, MIS, etc.
