About the Role

Biogen is hiring a Director, Advanced Analytics, Data Science & AI to spearhead data-driven insights that bolster brand, therapeutic area, and enterprise initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will influence business partners, lead AI/ML model execution and interpretation, frame complex problems, and craft compelling solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide an enterprise view of insights across Product/Brand and Therapeutic Areas on key topics like Resource Allocation, Measurement & attribution of market mix, channel optimization, digital analytics, predictive models, and decision engines.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data-driven solutions using advanced analytics, machine learning techniques, predictive algorithms, and AI-powered tools to extract actionable insights.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data scientists and AI experts to drive innovation and deliver high-quality results.
  • Influence end-to-end delivery of data science insights, from framing the business question to delivering recommendations.
  • Break down technical concepts into digestible insights and guide diverse stakeholders on how to interpret them effectively.
  • Collaborate within the insights & analytics team to develop and execute a comprehensive brand analytics plan.
  • Deliver consolidated insights and actionable recommendations to US Commercial teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of analytics insights into decision-making processes.
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure the success and impact of data-driven solutions.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance existing data science capabilities, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science and AI, applying them to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Build university partnerships for driving innovation and leading-edge research techniques.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise, effectively communicating the value proposition of data science.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and maintain a high level of data integrity.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resource allocation, and timelines for data science and AI projects.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in advanced analytics in US commercial settings.
  • Previous experience in biotech/pharmaceutical organizations or leading global management consulting firms.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, economics, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Business leadership skills to contextualize data science findings, recommendations, and implications for the business, influencing decision-making.
  • Extensive expertise with both traditional SQL and modern NoSQL data stores, including large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop or working in Snowflake/Databricks.
  • Strong experience with machine learning technology, such as the big data stack, Python, R, and visualization techniques.

  • Compensation: $195,000.00-$269,000.00 + equity incentive opportunities
